The CausalPath Cytoscape App is an app (i.e., plugin) for visualizing results from the CausalPath method within the Cytoscape desktop network analysis and visualization platform. CausalPath allows users to explore potential causal relationships from profiling experiments (e.g., proteomic mass spectrometry or RNA-seq). CausalPath compares experimentally measured changes in molecular profiles against curated biological pathways and infers causality between changes in measured features (e.g., protein and phospho-protein levels). The CausalPath Cytoscape App can visualize the set of known interactions that are supported by molecular profiling data. This integration of CausalPath and Cytoscape benefits users interested in performing secondary analyses (e.g., module detection) on the sub-networks that result from CausalPath analysis by utilizing the many analytical features available through the Cytoscape ecosystem.
